Non SSE Support Dropped

We've dropped support for x86 processors without SSE. SSE2 is supported on all processors sold in the past 5 years (including Atom). NumPy and SciPy packages are the only ones affected.

Python(x, y) 2.7.2.1 Released!

Hi All,
Pierre and I are pleased to announce that Python(x,y) 2.7.2.1 has been released. This is the first maintenance release based on Python 2.7. It includes several bug fixes and package upgrades. Also, several additional packages were updated to Python 2.7. 

Python(x,y) is a free Python distribution providing a ready-to-use scientific development software for numerical computations, data analysis and data visualization based on Python programming language, Qt graphical user interfaces (and development framework)  and Spyder interactive development environment. Its purpose is to help scientific programmers used to interpreted languages (such as MATLAB or IDL) or compiled languages (C/C++ or Fortran) to switch to Python. Python(x, y) 2.7.2.0 Released!

Hi All,
Pierre and I are pleased to announce that Python(x,y) 2.7.2.0 has been released. This is the first major release based on Python 2.7. We'll concentrate next on bug fixes and updating the additional plugins. 



Python(x,y) is a free Python distribution providing a ready-to-use scientific development software for numerical computations, data analysis and data visualization based on Python programming language, Qt graphical user interfaces (and development framework), Eclipse integrated development environment and Spyder interactive development environment. Its purpose is to help scientific programmers used to interpreted languages (such as MATLAB or IDL) or compiled languages (C/C++ or Fortran) to switch to Python. Python(x, y) 2.6.6.1 Released!

    Hi All,
    We are pleased to announce that Python(x,y) 2.6.6.1 has been released. This is a minor release in the 2.6.6.x branch - bringing several core packages updates and PyQt stability fixes. It also includes a new log2del.exe file bypassing the TrendMicro issue.

log2del.exe is NOT a virus

Hi All,

TrenMicro has decided to list log2del.exe as a Trojan. We've filed a request to re-evaluate - which is so far being ignored.

We've found a workaround and will upload an updated Python(x, y) installer shortly.

Python(x, y) 2.6.6.0 Released!

We will now concentrate on building Python-2.7-based plugins for the forthcoming Python(x,y) 2.7.X.0 (X >= 1) release.
